NullPlayer is the first engine on macOS, and the only open-source one, that renders Winamp 5 and ClassicPro skins. The ClassicPro engine is extracted from the ClassicPro installer you supply and runs natively on your Mac.

Windows Media Player .wmz

It's also the first on macOS, and the only open-source engine, for Windows Media Player skins from WMP 7, 7.1, XP, 9, 10, 11 and 12. Their views, JScript, EQ, SRS and visualizer controls all drive NullPlayer's playback.

Skin scripts run in an isolated JavaScriptCore sandbox with no ActiveX, registry, shell, DLL, plug-in or HTML access.

All of this is clean-room work. No Winamp, WACUP or Windows Media Player source code was copied or viewed.

Where to find skins

NullPlayer doesn't ship third-party skins. Download them from these archives and load them from the Skins menu.

Install

brew install --cask ad-repo/nullplayer/nullplayer, or the DMG plus xattr -cr /Applications/NullPlayer.app since it's unsigned.
